The Visitor Center at Arrow Rock provides an introduction to the 1850's era. The building is placed adjacent to a pedestrian bridge that leads from the parking lot into the historic village of Arrow Rock, where the overland westward expansion began in the United States. The main entrance level of the brick and copper structure contains space for museum displays, artifact restoration, lecture and audiovisual presentations as well as appropriate staff functions. A lower level of the two-story, 18,000 square foot building provides space for artifact and equipment storage. |
